Suchi Pakari is a beautiful resort in the rainforest. In the dark of our first night we did a wilderness walk in search of insects. In the morning was a hike through the jungle with lessons on cultural uses of botanicals.
Our group of 15 signed up for an excursion to a Wildlife Refuge Center, lunch and dancing with a traditional Inka family, a visit to a cayman preserve and a ceramics demonstration. Our transportation was at first a pickup truck through the river waters.. to a banana boat on the Rio Napo. So interesting to see people washing clothes, fishing and swimming in the river. The animals were beautiful.
Just as we got back into the boat it poured! It was a deluge and everyone was soaked to the skin and up to our ankle in water! We were laughing the whole time! To get us safely back to the resort they called for pickup trucks. Most of our group were riding in the back of the trucks as the two drivers raced their way around slick corners and down mountains. To the surprise of many in the second truck, a new UNESCO site was in plain view per courtesy of Will. LOL! Our guides Fabrizio and Carlos were looking for the blow darts!
